The English Adventure
Termly boarding is available for UK and Non-UK residents and we would welcome you to visit our exquisitely decorated “home from home” boarding house. Caring and attentive house-parents ensure a strong sense of belonging and personal identity. An engaging activity calendar allows our boarding family, and their friends, to experience a wealth of English cultural and scenic beauty; venturing to Stonehenge, Bath or Bristol for example, and exploring the famous Jurassic coastline, literally on our doorstep.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer a truly unique, tailored and original experience within very beautiful surroundings. Friendships made at Thornlow are ensured to last a lifetime.
Since its inception in September 2012, "The English Adventure" has been the host to over 40 international boarding students. The programme has been highly successful and many of “The Pupils” plead to ‘stay at Thornlow’ at the end of their adventure with us. Parents and pupils express a high degree of satisfaction. Many families, have enrolled siblings or have expressed an interest in their child returning in future years.
Thornlow Preparatory School offers overseas children the opportunity, to improve their language skills and to experience English culture through attending an English school for a term, or longer if required. We create many opportunities for our students to mix with English children in a range of settings, through going to school, weekend and afterschool activities and through offering the opportunity to visit English homes.
Thornlow provides a high quality, registered boarding facility which is “home” for the duration of the children’s stay in the UK.
Participating children demonstrate an improvement of as much as two years in spelling and reading ages in as little as 10 weeks of this ‘full immersion’ cultural and linguistic experience.
It is only by coming to visit that you can truely experience our exquisitely decorated “home from home” boarding house. Caring and attentive house-parents ensure a strong sense of belonging and personal identity. Our exceptional chef ensures that all food is prepared and cooked to an extremely high standard.
