"I have been blessed with discovering the satisfaction of teaching later in life, as my second career.  My first, following a Law degree at Southampton University, was twenty very fruitful years in manufacturing industry and the world of business.  

Having helped build up and been appointed CEO of a division of a large pharmaceutical company, I was then obliged to shut down and off-shore our operations to Asia, a process that left me wanting a new challenge - one that I think I have more than found at Thornlow.

I bring a lot of my communication and training skills with me from industry and apply them in the teaching of RE, Computing, History and Geography to various forms and years. Along with the teaching, I also spend a couple of nights each week as a Houseparent, as part of the team that looks after the boarders.  

Outside work, I enjoy repairing my 'classic' Lotus Elan and also encouraging my 40,000 (or thereabouts!) bees to keep those I know supplied with honey."
