Mrs S. Nicholson
Boarding Assistant House Mistress / Matron
I joined Thornlow, having held a variety of positions within many different boarding schools, including 10 years at Rugby School, where I was matron. I also enjoyed working at Bedford High School where I was Head of Boarding for 165 students who were predominantly from many international backgrounds. Most recently, I helped out as Matron at Milton Abbey School where my husband has been a School Master for over 20 years.
My boarding school career has spanned a total of 25 years and I am now really enjoying my role here at Thornlow. I look after the boarding pupils when Dr/Mrs Slade has her time off and I also work within the day school as school matron.
Medicine and Health is a primary interest of mine and has involved me in studying for 3 years as part of an Open University degree in Health Studies. I went on to work for 5 years in hospitals around Birmingham as a Welfare Officer for the Armed Forces.
I am very involved with my 4 children and 3 grand-children and we love spending time together when we can.
